The prodigal son - part 2


“What an honour to be the son of a freedom fighter; going to jail at such a young age for our country, it’s laudable. You’re a very lucky person.” The government official handed him the carefully folded tri-coloured national flag to cover the lifeless body before making their way to the funeral pyre. A news reporter with a photographer was present taking pictures of the deceased for his article on 'Another great man laid to rest' for the following day.

“Yeah, he was a great man.” The son smiled humbly and concurred. It was a comforting label – freedom fighter. It came with utmost respect and recognition by everyone. You simply couldn’t ask for more.

So what if his father was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time unintentionally, which led to his arrest in the first place.
