Today was huge. She was finally fourteen. Her sisters helped her put on the make-up as she tried on various earrings gleefully. Everyone knew it but to actually hold the Rs. 40,000 cash in their hands was almost surreal. She quickly hugged and kissed the family and ran to the waiting car. Worth every rupee.
